Introduction

At the centre of Tarka Accord is the Director's Office, a body containing both the Director and the Director's Council. The Director's Council is a representative body containing three members from each Branch who collectively share power with the Director within the office.

Current Purpose

The purpose of the Director's Office, although subject to change over time, is multifaceted:

  • To add structure to Tarka Accord through a central office.

  • To represent Tarka Accord as the collective organisation.

  • To add restrictions to the authority of the Director within the organisation.

Membership

Membership of the Director's Office of Tarka Accord can come in the form of active or inactive membership. Inactive membership - membership that doesn't provide any power within the office - is given at the behest of the Director's Office itself. Active membership - membership that provides a position of power within the office - can be obtained either through membership of the Director's Council or position as the Director. Both the positions of Director and Director's Councillor are obtained through elections; the elections of the Director are defined solely by they the rules within the Director's Office Constitution, the elections of Director's Councillors are defined by the Branches that elevate members to the council with a number of caveats as outlined in the Director's Office Constitution.
